Gender-affirming hair transplant result in London

Gender-Affirming Hair Restoration

Treatment is designed around the appearance you wish to create rather than applying the same hairline or facial-hair design to every patient.

Hairline Feminisation

Treatment may soften frontal recession, restore temple areas, create a more rounded facial frame or lower selected parts of the hairline where donor supply allows.

Scalp Restoration

Treatment may address frontal thinning, mid-scalp thinning or crown loss while accounting for existing hair and possible future progression.

View Crown Restoration

Facial-Hair Restoration

Beard, moustache, sideburn, chin and jawline restoration may be considered for selected patients seeking stronger or more even facial-hair growth.

Who May Be Suitable?

Suitability depends on donor strength, scalp health, medical history, hair-loss stability, treatment area and whether the requested outcome is realistic for the available graft supply.

  • Frontal or temporal hairline recession
  • Hairline feminisation or facial framing
  • Stable mid-scalp or crown thinning
  • Patchy beard, moustache or sideburn growth
  • Selected scar-related hair loss
  • Revision after previous restoration treatment
  • Staged scalp and facial-hair planning

Individual Treatment Planning

Preferred Appearance

Your preferred hairline, scalp or facial-hair appearance should be discussed before a design or graft estimate is proposed.

Donor Preservation

Grafts used for a hairline or beard cannot later be reused for another area, so current and possible future needs must be considered together.

Hair Characteristics

Hair calibre, curl pattern, colour contrast and natural growth direction affect the coverage and density that may be achieved.

Long-Term Planning

Continuing scalp thinning may affect the treatment design and whether one or more procedures could eventually be required.

How Gender-Affirming Hair Restoration Works

The exact procedure depends on whether treatment involves the frontal hairline, temples, scalp density, crown or facial-hair areas.

Private Consultation

The consultation reviews your preferred appearance, treatment priorities, hair-loss history, medical background, donor area and expectations.

Donor and Treatment-Area Assessment

Donor density, hair calibre, curl pattern, scalp condition, previous treatment and possible future hair loss are assessed.

Individual Design

The hairline, temple, scalp or facial-hair design is planned around facial balance, natural direction and realistic density.

Donor Graft Collection

Grafts are obtained using the agreed FUE, DHI donor process or selected FUT method depending on suitability.

Graft Placement

Follicular units are placed into the planned area according to the required angle, direction, spacing and density distribution.

Aftercare and Follow-Up

Personal instructions cover graft protection, washing, sleeping, exercise, swelling, scabbing, donor care, shedding and growth.

Gender-Affirming Hair Restoration Options

The treatment method should be selected because it suits your donor area, treatment location, graft requirements and individual plan.

Option How it may be used Important consideration
FUE Individual follicular-unit grafts are extracted for selected hairline, scalp, temple or facial-hair restoration. Extraction should be distributed carefully to protect the donor area.
DHI FUE-style donor harvesting is combined with placement using an implanter device. It may suit selected cases but is not automatically better for every treatment area.
Selected FUT A strip of donor scalp is removed and divided into individual follicular-unit grafts. FUT leaves a permanent linear donor scar and requires individual discussion.
Beard Transplant Donor grafts are placed into beard, moustache, sideburn, chin or jawline areas. Facial-hair treatment uses grafts that cannot later be used for scalp restoration.
PRP PRP may be discussed as non-surgical support where active follicles remain. It does not recreate a missing hairline or replace absent follicles.

Recovery and Aftercare

Recovery depends on the harvesting method and whether treatment involves the scalp, frontal hairline, temples or facial-hair area.

  • Redness, swelling and small scabs may occur
  • The donor area may feel tender or sensitive
  • Recipient sites may remain visible during early healing
  • Exercise and heavy sweating may be restricted temporarily
  • Transplanted hairs may shed before regrowth develops
  • Hairline, crown and facial-hair areas may mature differently

Transgender Hair Transplant Cost

Cost is confirmed after consultation, donor-area assessment and individual treatment design.

Hairline, temple, scalp and facial-hair treatments may require very different graft numbers, placement methods and surgical plans.

Your written quotation should confirm the treatment area, estimated graft requirement, procedure method, total cost and included aftercare.

Transgender Hair Transplant London FAQs

What is a transgender hair transplant?
It is personalised hair restoration planned around gender-affirming appearance goals. Treatment may involve the hairline, temples, scalp, beard, moustache or sideburns.
Can treatment create a more feminine hairline?
Selected patients may be suitable for frontal reshaping, temple restoration or softening of existing recession.
Can a transplant improve beard growth?
Selected patients may be suitable for beard, moustache, sideburn, chin or jawline restoration using suitable donor grafts.
Is FUE or DHI better?
Neither method is automatically better for every patient. The recommendation depends on donor quality, treatment area, hair characteristics and graft requirements.
Can FUT be used?
FUT may be considered for selected patients, but it involves strip harvesting and leaves a permanent linear donor scar.
Could more than one procedure be required?
Larger hairline, scalp or facial-hair plans may require staged treatment rather than using too much donor hair during one procedure.
How much does treatment cost?
Cost depends on the treatment area, estimated graft requirement, donor quality, selected method and case complexity. View London treatment costs.
Is the consultation private?
Yes. You can request a private consultation to discuss your preferred name, pronouns, treatment goals, donor area, costs and recovery.
